A definite feel of spring in the air, when young mens fancy turns to CUP FINALS!! Four clubs were going at it, tooth and nail today, in order to earn a place in the Senior Cup Final. Castle Tavern with the Kent Cup Semi firmly put at the back of their minds while they overcame The Goat by 4-2 to book their places in yet another final with Brad King Claiming a hat trick as they raced into a 4-0 lead. They now face White Horse who narrowly beat Park Regis Kemsley by 2-1. Micky Growns put Park Regis ahead and Paul Teague equalised. The gamed looked certain to go to extra time until Sam Teague's wonder goal late on sealed it for White Horse. Red Lion have done it, they finally registered their first league win of the season over Leysdown with Aaron Kerry (2) and Martin Hammond on the mark. Leysdown replied through Ollie Gascoigne and a Jon Bayliss Own Goal. Milton and Fulston remain top of the league despite being defeated by Dore, but uniquely with a minus goal difference!! Dore United winning comfortably today by 10-2. The pick of the Dore United scorers were Ash Claridge who began the deluge with a triple and a brace from Sam Mannering. Holm Sports are now in a rich vein of form and they gained another three points at the expense of Park Regis A, and a foot up the league table into second. Holm scorers were Tony Hewitt (3), Dale Bryant (2), Smith and Craig Holland. The title race in division two looks to be hotting up with the top two registering wins. Second placed Minster Sheppey rattled home nine against lowly Lynten Athletic with Lee Smith claiming a creditable five. However, IOSA won 9-3 against third placed Spike Stars. A result made all the more remarkable with James Hewitt hitting eight! of the goals. His first three came in the first nine minutes of the game. The game went to 4-0 with Carl Davies adding to the score and it was only then that Spike Stars woke up and pulled the game to 4-3 AND missed a penalty. Hewitt then got his second wind and there was no stopping the Academy. Harps and Swale now in the quagmire that is mid-table slogged out a 3-3 draw after Swale were leading 3-1. Leaders Red Lion Reserves were away to cup finalists IOSA Reserves and it was the Lion who roared the loudest as they won 3-0 with goals from Austin, Pullen and Thomsett. Sittingbourne Lions remain in second place after they annihilated Hilltop in fourth by 10-2 with Alex Hix claiming four, Pointer, Ware and Kent each grabbed two apiece. Kings Head in two finals seemed to have taken their eyes off the ball in the league as they went down 3-2 to an insurgent New Sheppey Revolution. Aviator and Classic Real, both in precarious positions in the league fought for the honour of three points and it was Classic Real who took all honours in a three nil win, Alan Swindlehurst getting all the goals. With Park Regis Reserves game against Jolly getting called off it was left to the Aviator and Sporting Sittingbourne to claw some points back. Aviator A were up against the might that is Bourne Rovers and subsequently won 7-1. Sands, Bennett and Peters on the mark for Aviator. Sporting Sittingbourne kept pace with a 4-2 win over Eastern Athletic with Chapman(2), Burgin and Osbourne with scoring boots on. MIlton Park and B&W Athletic fought out a 1-1 draw.
